9 Month Milestone in Studio – Des Plaines Photographer

9 months and still full of smiles! From holding her head up then sitting to standing, it is so fun to see her come back everything three moths to show off another milestone. The first year is full of such growth. You blink and they have a new trick or new expression. I am so happy Mom and Dad chose me to capture her first year. One more milestone session to go!

One Month Baby Collage Frame – Art Product

It can be so hard to choose the images a client wants to look at every day. But we did it!

The top frame will hang in the hallway that leads to Baby J’s room. His parents plan to add to this as he grows but this will stand alone until his next session. We had to make sure the image would look well alone and would also allow accompanying images as time goes on.

Mom selected the large image in the collage because it shows off his length and his gorgeous eyes, the top image because of his eyes again, the middle because she will remember how peacefully he sleeps and the bottom because he gave us a little smile. How can you not walk by that every day and not smile yourself!

The bottom image of Baby J and his Mom will hang in her room and will allow her to see how he small he once was for years and years to come. I think that may be the image she cherishes the most in 20 years.

Filling a Home with Artwork

Some gorgeous artwork went home today. Two images printed on a standout mount, ready to hang in the clients home, along with a wooden print box filled with a 5X7 print of each of the final 40+ images from their session. The wooden box looks gorgeous out on a table or book case and makes it easy for your family and friends to look through the images. Having family photos around the home boosts the self esteem of the child, making them feel important and loved. It also provides great conversation for guests and family.

Brothers Fall Mini Session – Des Plaines, IL

The first time I met these brothers they were with about 6 of their cousins as we juggles getting all them to sit for a cousins portrait for grandma. It was wonderful to have them back and spend some time with these two, all handsome and growing up. They were full of silliness and giggles for 20 minutes while we captured some great fall photos for Mom. And Mom did a great job on these adorable outfits.

Lifestyle Family Photography Artwork – Palatine

Mom and Dad wanted a variety of portraits that capture their happy family at this stage of life. They wanted to be able to walk by them everyday in their home and they had a blank wall that was just asking for some artwork. So portraits of their family seemed the perfect fit. This is where I come in!

We met at their local neighborhood park in Palatine for their photography session. This was a place the family spends a lot of time at every week, if not every day! Their daughter loves the park. She also loves hopping, marching, running and does an impressive amount of animal sounds and impressions. We captured a ton of images and then headed to the park to finish out our session. Click here to see some images from their session.

After the session when Mom came in for the viewing, it was (as it can be) difficult to narrow down the favorite images to put on the wall. This is the time many clients wonder if their are any other walls or rooms or inches of free space in their life that they can add more of the images from their session! We ended up narrowing down the list to four of her favorite images which she loved in square format (I did too!). I think she did a fabulous job selecting and can’t wait to see them up on their walls.

The image above is the clients phone picture of her blank space. My software program allows my clients to virtually place images on to her wall, allowing the client to really see what the photographs will look like in her home.  Seeing them here is helpful and I am glad that I can offer this to clients, but the really happiness is when you pick up your images, hold them and put them on your walls. They look gorgeous in print. This family chose a standout which takes the photographic print and mounts it to a foam board which allows your image to standout from the wall. These do not require additional framing and are light weight, which is often a bonus to families with young children.

Fall Simple Portrait Sessions – Busse Woods

blackgalleryframe

In the past few weeks I have had a lot of people approach me and confess that their family portrait is either very out dated, doesn’t include their last child or that they have never had one. Each family explaining how they want to get a new portrait done, how they keep meaning to look into it and how they need to schedule something.

I find that today’s hectic schedules are partially to blame. And for some it seems so daunting to schedule a session, get prints made, find the right clothing or find a day that works for everyone in their family. I encourage anyone who falls in this category to go through your closets and find simple clothing, no need to go shopping, just pick out some simple colors. Just stay away from logos, crazy designs and make sure no one shirt will over power any of the other shirts. The focus is on the subjects faces and expressions so clothing can be kept simple.

Then find 20 minutes on a Wednesday or Sunday afternoon and come out to Busse Woods for a quick 20 minute session. After that everything is done online at your convenience. Three weeks after the session you can be putting your portraits on your bookshelf or wall and handing out prints to update grandparents frames. It might even be a good idea to keep these a secret and use for Christmas presents!

Had over to Kellyfitzgeraldstudio.com and click Book a Fall Session to read about the details and find availability. Last minute sessions can be booked so if you end up with a free Sunday afternoon, bring the kids or family out.

Pets are family too! They are always welcome to come out as well.
